Thank you for learning more about Portland Spanish Language Tutoring and Instruction! Personalized one-on-one language instruction, with an accredited language instructor, suited to your learning needs and busy schedule.
From support passing your high school or college course, to beginning from ground zero to learn the language on your own, I can guide you to meet your learning goals in Spanish. Lessons, offered in-person or online, consist of proven language acquisition methodologies centered in real-world contexts. Together we will read, write, speak, and listen to Spanish. I will guide you through the process of learning the language, and equip you with language acquisition techniques, habits, and practices that you will be able to carry with you long after our lessons together end.

One-on-One Tutoring (60 min)
Sliding scale: $45-100
Personalized 60-minute sessions focused on helping you with your Spanish class/course curriculum. This option is for students who are already enrolled in a Spanish class or course, and would like support with their learning. All students who are enrolled in school (6-12, college, or university) qualify for this rate, even during summer break.
Tutoring sessions can be held online or in-person at a location of your choosing*.
*students under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian during lessons.
One-on-One Instruction (60 min)
Sliding scale: $55-100
Personalized 60-minute lessons with specialized curriculum designed personally for you and your Spanish language goals. This option is for learners who are not currently taking a Spanish class or course, and would like to learn Spanish outside of the traditional classroom setting. Learning is paced according to your comfort and ability levels, as well as your language goals.
Just like tutoring, individual lessons can be held in-person or online.
Group Instruction (60 min)
$50/per student for 2-3 students
$45/per student for groups of 4 or more
Have a group of family members or friends who would all like to learn Spanish together? With my group lessons, you and a group of up to 10 of your friends and loved ones will be communicating in Spanish in no time.
Just like individual lessons, group lessons can be held in-person or online.
Why a sliding scale?
One of my most deeply held beliefs as an educator is that all students deserve equitable access to a quality, rigorous education that will prepare them to lead successful and happy lives. A sliding rate scale allows me to make a living as an educator, while still being able to be flexible when a student needs help and can’t afford to pay as much as another student is able to pay. As such, I request that all students/families/parents/guardians be open and honest with me about what they can afford, this will allow me to continue my mission of helping as many students as I can while still being able to feed myself and my fur babies.
How does it work?
Your rate on the sliding scale is determined by how your self-reported household income compares to the Portland area AMI (Average Median Income).
My base rates start for those at 80% of the area AMI or lower. The highest rate is for households at 125% of the area AMI or higher. Those that fall in the middle will receive a rate proportional to their percentage on that scale.
